# Activation Control

Activation Control manages the lifecycle of a single response, such as one
typhoon, from **Mobilize** through **Respond** and **Recover** to **Closeout**.
One install provides both the field dashboard and the headquarters portfolio.

## What you get

- **Sitreps without changing stage.** While an activation is in Respond or
Recover, a situation report is recorded as an audit-only event. The stage stays
put and the report is added to the activation history.
- **A branch directory.** Headquarters keeps the list of branches, such as a
country office, and each field workspace reports to one of them.
- **A portfolio rollup.** Headquarters sees one row per activation with
assistance by fund and homes repaired. These figures are summarised from the
linked field workspace, and no household or damage records are copied.

## Linking headquarters and a field workspace

An organization administrator registers a field workspace against the
headquarters workspace for an activation, then runs a sync to refresh the
rollup. If a field workspace uses a fund code that headquarters does not have,
the link is flagged as an exception for review. Headquarters balances are never
overwritten. Once an activation is closed, syncing stops, apart from the final
closeout package.

## Sandbox walkthrough

The sandbox includes two ready-made workspaces: **KSS HQ (Warwick)** and
**KSS Philippines — 2026 Typhoon**. The field workspace is already linked to
headquarters and has been synced once.
