Auto Tech Yoke
The Auto Tech Yoke is the independent shop's side of the auto family: a board of repair orders, a labor clock, and digital vehicle inspections. It is free, and it installs with demo data in every lane so you can see how the work flows before you enter any of your own.
What you get
- Tech Board — repair orders moving from estimate through approval, work, parts, quality check, and pickup.
- Customers and Vehicles — the records behind the work.
- Repair order detail — the labor and part lines billed to the job, the workflow history, the labor clock, and the inspection record.
The labor clock
Open a repair order and clock on. Time is recorded as an append-only ledger of clock-on and clock-off events, so the hours on a job can be audited afterwards rather than typed in from memory.
The clock is per technician — two people on the same repair order each keep their own session, and neither can overwrite the other's. A closed repair order stops taking time; its ledger stays readable.
Digital vehicle inspections
A digital vehicle inspection (DVI) is the multi-point walk-around your customer actually believes, because they can see it.
From a repair order, run a new inspection: mark each point green, yellow or red, add a note, and flag the findings that should become work. On submission:
- the inspection is recorded permanently — inspections are never edited or deleted, so the record of what the vehicle looked like on that date holds;
- every flagged finding is added to the repair order's estimate as recommended work, so nothing gets lost between the bay and the front counter;
- you can mint a customer link for the inspection. It opens with no login, so you can text it to the customer and have them look at the same red and yellow items you are looking at.
Green points cannot be flagged as recommended work — a pass is not a sale.
Working alongside the Auto Dealer Yoke
The two apps share one repair-order workflow. A shop that installs both sees a single repair-order lifecycle, with the dealership's service drive, parts counter and cashier on one side and the technician's clock and inspections on the other. Removing either app leaves the other's workflow and data intact.
Limits on the free plan
The free plan caps the number of customers and repair orders you can create. Both caps lift when the workspace moves to a paid plan.
Installing the Auto Dealer Yoke also lifts the repair-order cap on its own: repair orders then belong to that app, which sets no limit of its own. The customer cap is unaffected.
